On the day after Thanksgiving, maybe to work off the massive calories consumed the day before, I ventured to Euclid Creek on Cleveland’s far east side in the suburb of South Euclid. Having driven by it many times over the past two years it always seemed genuinely inviting so it was time to stop. Extremely picturesque and spread out over several miles this particular portion of the Metroparks is many-faceted with several different picnic areas and specific locales. While the main path hews pretty close to the road, there are several dirt paths you can wander about and naturally you can go further off the beaten path(s) as you see fit. Autumn is definitely the best time to visit much of the Metroparks, for without the leaves on the trees you can see thetotality of these majestic, urban vistas nearly unimpeded. Euclid Creek Reservation actually contains much more than just walkways, picnic areas, and exercise stations, but also historic venues like Euclid Beach Park and Villa Angela Park and more.
